A community celebration of live theatre, staged outdoors each summer.
"One touch of nature makes the whole world kin"
Viroqua Shakespeare brings free classical theatre to the Driftless region each summer, staged under the open sky. Our programming includes poetry slams, singing workshops, staged readings, children's theatre, and touring performances, alongside live music, food, and community celebration.
The scene is set in Viroqua, Wisconsin.
Viroqua Shakespeare Festival performances are hosted at PrairieWind Park, a 35-acre community-owned public park nestled in the southeastern corner of the city of Viroqua.

VSF takes place at PrairieWind Park in Viroqua, Wisconsin, a 35-acre community-owned public park nestled in the southeastern corner of the city of Viroqua, between the Viroqua cemetery and the Vernon Hills Disc Golf Course.
Take US Highway 14 into Viroqua and turn onto Hickory Street at the Kwik Trip gas station on the south side of town. Follow Hickory Street to Washington Avenue, and turn right. After 100 feet, turn left onto Lewison Lane, and follow Lewison for a half mile until you see the PrairieWind sign. Turn left onto PrairieWind Way and follow the road past the house on the right out to the parking lot. The stage is down on the hillside, to the north of the parking lot and the soccer fields.

Our performances are outdoors, at the base of a gently sloping hillside, about 150 feet from the parking lot at PrairieWind Park. We have a golf cart or other all terrain vehicles at our disposal to safely transport all patrons who need assistance from the parking lot down to their seats, and back up to their vehicles. When driving into the park, proceed all the way to the far side of the parking lot and flag down a parking attendant to let them know you have accessibility needs. We will ensure that you park close to the path to the stage, and get you a ride down to your seat. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair!
-
There is no assigned seating and our stage is at the base of a grassy hillside, so bring a lawn chair or blanket, and most of all, an openness to experiencing awe, heartbreak, wonder, tragedy, levity, and more!
